EVAC's 2007 Exhibition Series:
EVACcitywide ON-LINE
July 19, 2007
Des Moines Art Center
6:00-9:00pm
A totally on-line art exhibition featuring artists from all over the world. This is the first of its kind in Des Moines and we are pleased to have the cooperation and assistance from Jeff Fleming and the Des Moines Art Center.
As the world moves into virtual reality so must art. The worldwide web and digital technology allows us to exist in the parallel universe of cyber-space. Come with us through the new "looking glass" and see the wave of the future.
Shoe Show
August 4, 2007
Fitch Studios Gallery
5:00pm-9:00pm
Sponsored by EVACcitywide, Shoe Show is a unique exhibition offering artists, from amateur to professional, the opportunity to barter their unique creation (paintings, photographs, mixed media, sculpture) of shoes with the public; however, no monies can be exchanged for work. Instead, original works of art can be traded for nearly anything, from rubber bands to a Rolls-Royce. All trades must be mutually agreed upon the artist and the "buyer" during the one-night opening reception and show.
Full Frontal
September, 7 2007
The Hoberger Building.
5pm-9pm.
Our Fall show will coincide with Artstop in the East Village. This show will interface interpretations of the familiar "buzz phrase" full frontal. What comes to mind for you? Total frontal nude shots? A row of NFL line-backers coming at you full force? Perhaps the front end of a Mack truck bursting through your bedroom? Come see what creative interpretations are conjured up for this exhibition.
Also, please visit the East Village Neighborhood and see the pageantry of cards from our "52 Pick-up" project in support of our Public School art programming needs. Here are some previous EVAC exhibitions. Join us at our next event!
